HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC scored the first bucket of the game, but shockingly, that would be its only lead of the game as the Huskies shot 60 percent from the floor to lead by seven, 15-8, after the opening 10 minutes.
• The Anchorwomen struggled to find the bottom of the net in the second quarter due to spectacular defense by Southern Maine, which forced eight turnovers alone in the second frame to lead, 37-18, at the break.
• Southern Maine would again capitalize off missed shots by the Anchorwomen as the Huskies would head into the final quarter with a comfortable 23-point, 58-35, lead.
• Medbury would make a three pointer to cut the deficit down to 12, 67-55, with 1:23 remaining, but that would not be enough to spark a comeback as Husky free throws kept the Anchorwomen at bay down the stretch.
• Senior guard
Jayda Bing (Hamilton, N.J.) finished with 10 points and classmate forward
Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) contributed six points and a team-high eight rebounds in their final collegiate games.
• The loss prevented the Anchorwomen from reaching the Little East Championship's final for the sixth consecutive season.
