Salve Regina Clips the Anchormen, 80-76

Providence, R.I.--Freshman guard Noe Bom (Hamburg, Germany) scored 24 points and came away with three steals as Rhode Island College fell at Salve Regina, 80-76, at Rodgers Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen opened the game on an 18-7 run within the first nine minutes, paced by a pair of buckets from both Bom and junior guard/forward Xavier Mendez (Pawtucket, R.I.).
 
• However, a 35-22 run in from the hosts within the last 11 minutes of the half gave the Seahwaks the lead by two, 42-40, at the break.
 
• A pair of free throws from Bom with six minutes remaining in regulation knotted the game at 64 apiece, but Salve Regina put the game out of reach with a 7-0 run.
 
• The Seahawks would convert their free throws the rest of the way out to stay undefeated.

• Mendez dropped in 21 points, while senior guard Loudon Chupas (Colchester, Conn.) racked up 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Bridgewater State on Tuesday, Nov. 25 (7:30 p.m.).
