Cami Weekly (Burrillville, R.I.) scored her first collegiate goal as Rhode Island College crushed Mass. Maritime, 5-0, for its fifth straight win at Alumni Stadium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Despite a bevy of offensive chances, it took the hosts 32 minutes to break the scoreless deadlock. Junior forward
Amber Almeida (Sturbridge, Mass.) found a ball played by sophomore midfielder
Hannah Rezendes (Bristol, R.I.) to score what proved to be the eventual game-winner.

• Less than a minute later, Rezendes was gifted the ball by the Buccaneer defense in front of an open net to tie Almeida with five goals apiece to lead the team.

Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) broke in from the wing in the 37
th minute and her shot went through the goalkeeper's hands and right to Weekly, who buried the first of her career into an open net. Â

• RIC dominated the second half as well and capitalized on a corner kick 10 minutes into the period when junior defender
Leah Saunders (Smithfield, R.I.) headed in her first of the season.

• Freshman midfielder
Dakota Landry (Hope, R.I.) capped off the scoring for the day with her first collegiate points in the 66th minute.
• Junior goalkeeper
Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) registered the win (2-0) without having to make a save for her second shutout of the year.

• Seven Anchorwomen registered at least one point in the win. Five of RIC's seven wins have been shutouts.

• Mass. Maritime has not scored a goal in 10 games this fall.
