Providence, R.I.--Senior forward Tayla Salome (Lincoln, R.I.) scored twice as Rhode Island College evened its Little East record at 1-1 with a 3-0 shutout over Plymouth State at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore forward Amber Almeida (Sturbridge, Mass.) notched RIC's first goal in the 12^th minute off dishes from senior midfielder Marissa Ruzzano (Smithfield, R.I.) and junior defender Grace Aukerman (Ashford, Conn.).
 
• In the 34th minute, Salome scored her first of the game as RIC extended the lead to two. Junior forward Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) tallied two assists on the day, both of which contributed to Salome's goals.
 
• Aukerman and fellow classmate defender Karen Johnson-Hoffman (Groton, Conn.) put in stellar defensive performances in the victory, limiting the Panthers to six shots on goal as RIC notched its fifth shutout win of the season.
 
• Senior goalkeeper Chloe Angelone (Bayville, N.Y.) earned her fourth win (4-4) and third shutout.
