THE BASICS
Rhode Island College 2, Clark University 1
Rhode Island College (2-1-1)
Clark University (1-2-2)
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Adio scored his first goal 14 minutes into the game off a corner kick by senior midfielder
Anthony Recinos (Providence, R.I.). It was Recinos' fourth assist of the season, all of which have come off set pieces.
Â
• RIC held the, 1-0, advantage until Cougar forward
Lucas Saia (Pembroke, Mass.) put a header into the back of the net to even up the game in the 71
st minute.
Â
• As the final seconds ticked off, the Anchormen caught a break with a throw-in deep in Clark's zone. RIC stopped the clock and subbed in freshman defender
Andrew Albamonti (Westerly, R.I.), who is a throw-in specialist. His throw sailed into the box in front of the net and found Adio's foot for the game-winner.
Â
• Senior goalkeeper
Wesley Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass.) was solid again between the woodwork for the hosts, stopping six to record his first win of the season (1-1-1).
Â
• The Anchormen are unbeaten in their last three contests. Recinos has two goals and four assists for eight points during that time span.
