Willimantic, Conn.--Senior shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) drew two walks as Rhode Island College lost at Eastern Connecticut, 8-1, in Little East action on Saturday afternoon.

• The Warriors built a 2-0 advantage in the bottom of the second inning.
 
• Eastern Connecticut would add two more runs in the sixth to double its lead to 4-0.
 
• Senior center fielder Justin Wardwell (Westport, Mass.) knocked in catcher David Iannuccilli (Johnston, R.I.) with an RBI single to put RIC on the board in the eighth inning.
 
• In the bottom half of the eighth, the Warriors would add four more insurance runs to put the game out of reach. They would hold the lead to secure an 8-1 win.
 
• RIC junior starting pitcher Ryan Seaver (Norton, Mass.) threw six innings in the loss (1-3).
 
• Eastern Connecticut junior starting pitcher Matthew Wootton (Milford, Conn.) threw 6.1 innings and earned the win (3-0).
