Corsairs Down Anchormen

Providence, R.I.--Junior first baseman Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI as Rhode Island College lost vs. UMass Dartmouth, 17-6, in Little East action played at Pontarelli Field on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Corsairs took control of the game from the get-go, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. The visitors would follow it up with a seven-run effort in the fourth, and two more tallies in the fifth, to take a 13-0 lead.

• In the bottom of the seventh inning, needing runs to prevent the 10-run rule from ending the game early, freshman third baseman John McKnight (Rumford, R.I.) reached first base on an error to bring in a run for the Anchormen and keep the host's chances alive.

• Trzepacz notched an RBI single in the seventh as well. Senior right fielder Sean Helfrich (Saunderstown, R.I.) registered an RBI groundout in the eighth.

• With the win, UMass Dartmouth took the season series from RIC, 2-0.

• RIC sophomore starter Devyn Glenn (West Warwick, R.I.) took the loss (1-2).

• Senior shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks.
