Eli Gouin Named Little East Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College junior Elijah Gouin (Glocester, R.I.) was named the Little East Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his performance in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.
 
Gouin won his first career match at No. 2 singles with a shutout (6-0, 6-0) and paired with classmate Zach Siemmao (Wakefield, R.I.) for an 8-1 win at second doubles in an 8-1 win over Curry on April 22. After dropping the first set, Gouin came from behind to win (2-6, 6-0, 6-2) at No. 3 singles to clinch a 6-3 victory over Western Connecticut on April 24. He also paired with classmate Noah Morin (Smithfield, R.I.) for an 8-0 win at second doubles.
 
For the season, Gouin is 10-0 in singles and 9-1 in doubles action.
 
Head Coach Adam Spring's team is 8-2 overall and 5-1 (second place) in the Little East.
 
In upcoming action, No. 2-seeded Rhode Island College will host the winner of No. 6 VTSU Castleton and No. 3 Western Connecticut in the semifinals of the 2024 Little East Men's Tennis Championship on Thursday, May 2 (3:30 p.m.).
