Baseball Falls at UMass Dartmouth, 10-7

North Dartmouth, Mass.--Senior designated hitter Cole Podedworny (Wakefield, R.I..) went 1-for-3 with two RBI as the Rhode Island College baseball team lost at UMass Dartmouth, 10-7, in Little East action on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Corsairs stormed out to an early 3-1 lead in the first inning. The hosts would also hit a solo home run in the third to boost their lead to 4-1.
 
• The Anchormen would have an offensive explosion in the sixth inning with a five-run outburst. Four different Anchormen would record RBI in the inning to give RIC a 7-4 lead.
 
• UMass Dartmouth would respond immediately in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four runs to recapture an 8-7 lead, which they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest.
 
• Senior shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) went 2-for-5 with one run scored, while sophomore second baseman Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.) went 2-for-5 from the dish.
 
• Senior reliever Jake Randall (Warwick, R.I.) took the loss (1-2).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Salve Regina on Thursday, April 18 (3:30 p.m.).
