Trzepacz Leads Anchormen in, 8-6, Loss at Roger Williams

Bristol, R.I.--Senior first baseman Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) went 4-for-6 with a solo home run as Rhode Island College lost vs. Roger Williams, 8-6, at Paolino Field on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first inning was an offensive explosion, with Trzepacz and senior designated hitter Cole Podedworny (Wakefield, R.I.) each hitting homers to give the Anchormen a 3-0 lead.
 
• The Hawks would respond in kind by scoring four runs in the bottom half of the first to take a 4-3 lead.
 
• RIC would score two more runs in the third to recapture a 5-4 lead.
 
• Roger Williams retook its lead in the sixth inning by plating three runs to hold a 7-5 lead. The hosts would add an insurance run in the seventh.
 
• Sophomore second baseman Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.) registered an RBI single in the ninth to cap the visitor's offensive output on the day.
 
• Freshman reliever Nicholas Mercer (Tiverton, R.I.) took the loss (0-1).
 
• McElroy went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Podedworny went 2-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI.
