Livia Sweeney Scores First Collegiate Goal in, 17-2, Setback at Curry

Milton, Mass.--Freshman attacker Livia Sweeney (North Kingstown, R.I.) scored her first collegiate goal as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team lost vs. Curry, 17-2, at Katz Field on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After the Colonels jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter, RIC freshman attacker Sophie DeFlitch (Hummelstown, Pa.) was able to score with 13 seconds remaining to put RIC on the board just before the second quarter.
 
• Sweeney scored for the Anchorwomen in the second stanza, but Curry's offense was firing on all cylinders as the hosts built up an 11-2 advantage as the clock hit zero for halftime.
 
• Junior Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) led the way for the Colonels with six goals.
 
• Colonels' sophomore goalkeeper Zoe Ratcliffe (Medway, Mass.) made five saves in the victory (1-1).
 
• RIC freshman goalkeeper Fiona Baxter (East Greenwich, R.I.) registered 12 saves, to go along with three caused turnovers and a trio of ground balls, in the loss (0-3).
 
• Freshman defender Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) had two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
