Anchorwomen Drop Little East Opener at VTSU Castleton

Castleton, Vt.--Junior defender Nicolle Rosales (New Bedford, Mass.) netted a hat trick and picked up three ground balls as Rhode Island College lost at VTSU Castleton, 14-6, in Little East action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Spartans would score just 39 seconds into the opening quarter, whereas the Anchorwomen and senior attacker Emily Marino (Cheshire, Conn.) would tie the game with 1:44 left in the first frame.
 
• Over the second and third quarters, Castleton would score seven unanswered tallies, taking an 8-1 lead with 8:24 remaining in the third stanza.
 
• Rosales would score all three of her goals in the fourth quarter.
 
• Junior defender Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) led RIC with five draw controls.
 
• Freshman goalkeeper Fiona Baxter (East Greenwich, R.I.) made 15 saves in the loss (1-3).
 
• Castleton sophomore goalkeeper Liv Cormier (Fitchburg, Mass.) recorded one save in the win (1-7).
