Providence, R.I.—Senior left fielder Cole Podedworny (Wakefield, R.I.) went 2-for-5 with a run scored as Rhode Island College lost at Johnson & Wales, 8-4, on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first three innings, both sides would bring in two runs apiece in the fourth inning.
 
• An RBI single by sophomore right fielder Daniel Cascio (East Hampton, Conn.) would give RIC a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh inning.
 
• The Wildcats would explode offensively in the bottom half of the seventh, scoring five runs to give the hosts an 8-4 lead and hold on to for the remainder of the contest.
 
• Johnson and Wales junior reliever Ryan Schultz (Hebron, Conn.) threw 2.1 innings and struck out four to earn the win (2-1).
 
• RIC senior reliever Jake Randall (Warwick, R.I.) took the loss (0-1).
 
• Junior first baseman Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) went 2-for-5 with a run scored.
