Springfield, Mass.--Junior
Haley Oliver (Coventry, R.I.) won three events as the Rhode Island College women's track and field team opened the 2024-25 indoor season of their schedule with a second place (six teams) finish at the Springfield Season Opener on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College finished second (six teams) with a team score of 144.0. Springfield won the meet with a score of 207.0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Oliver won the mile (5:11.57), 1,000m (3:06.04) and the 4x400m relay (4:27.54).

Trinity Hayes (Providence, R.I.) finished first in the 400m (1:00.75), 200m (26.53) and the 4x400m relay (4:27.54) and second in the 60m (8.05).
• Senior
Samantha Sainristil (Cranston, R.I.) won the weight throw (13.67m) and finished fourth in the shot (11.57m).
• Junior
Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) finished first in both the 60m (7.91) and the 4x400m relay (4:27.54), third in the 200m (27.17) and fifth in the long jump (4.69m).
• Freshman
Quiana Pezza (Cranston, R.I.) won the long jump (5.37m), finished second in both the 200m (27.10) and the triple jump (10.75m) and third in the 60m dash (8.17).

Bendu Kamara (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished first in the 4x400m relay (4:27.54), fifth in the 400m (1:06.58) and eighth in the 200m (28.12).

Kandace Daniel (East Providence, R.I.) finished fourth in the 200m (27.30).

Lexie Zakrzewski (Taunton, Mass.) finished sixth in the 600m (1:52.00).
