Chloe Angelone (Bayville, N.Y.) made seven saves as the Rhode Island College women's soccer team defeated Eastern Connecticut, 2-1, in Little East action on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen were on the board almost immediately off the opening kickoff. Junior midfielder
Marissa Ruzzano (Smithfield, R.I.) was awarded a penalty kick in the second minute, which she successfully converted to put RIC up, 1-0, early.

• Just four minutes later, sophomore midfielder
Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) delivered a cross, which found the boot of junior midfielder
Tayla Salome (Lincoln, R.I.) who made no mistake in scoring her fourth goal of the season.

• The Warriors looked to respond in the latter stages of the first half, but Angelone was up to the task, making three saves over the first 45 minutes.

Briley Harnois (Attleboro, Mass.) in the 88
th minute, which she converted to spoil Angelone's shutout bid.

• Eastern Connecticut freshman goalkeeper
Kaeden Dublin (Maple Grove, MN) recorded two saves in 45 minutes of action and was credited with the loss (1-2).

• Angelone made seven saves in the winning effort (7-0-1).

• This was the Anchorwomen's sixth consecutive win to bring their record to 7-1-1, which is the program's best start since the 2005 season when the team went out to a 9-2 start.
