HOW IT HAPPENED
• The match started in favor of the Anchorwomen. Despite not having four members of their usual starting lineup, they outshot the Bucs, 6-0, in the first 20 minutes.

• Senior midfielder Ally Reddish (Canton, Mass.) stripped the ball from the Anchorwomen defense and went in alone on junior goalkeeper Chloe Angelone (Bayville, N.Y.) in the 24th minute. Reddish slipped a shot into the lower left portion of the goal to put the Buccaneers up, 1-0. This goal ended the RIC shutout streak of 385 minutes and Angelone's personal scoreless streak of nearly 460 minutes.

• The Anchorwomen began to pepper the Bucs with shots to no avail until  sophomore midfielder Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) stripped a Buccaneer defender and tied the game up in the 41st minute.

• With just 30 seconds remaining in the first half, RIC was awarded a penalty kick, which was taken by freshman back Karol Matamoros (Cranston, R.I.), but she failed to convert on the attempt.

• The second half was pure domination by the hosts, who outshot the visitors, 14-0, over the final 45 minutes. Bucs junior goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz (Tolland, Conn.) was up to the task, making back-to-back remarkable saves off junior midfielder Tayla Salome (Lincoln, R.I.) and freshman forward Amber Almeida (Sturbridge, Mass.) to keep the game tied.

• Forte took a long shot from roughly 30-yards away that eluded Kerecz and sailed into the upper right part of the goal for what proved to be the game-winning goal with six minutes left.

• Kerecz made four saves in the losing effort (0-2)

• Angelone picked up her fifth win (5-0-1).
