th minute as the Rhode Island College men's soccer team lost to Emerson, 3-1, at Alumni Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game started with an offensive clinic from the Anchormen, who took five shots within the first eight minutes. However, they were unable to crack Emerson freshman goalkeeper
Wylie Jelinek (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

• The rest of the first half was more evenly matched, with neither squad able to take the lead. RIC held the advantage in shots, 7-6, after 45 minutes.

• The scoring started in the 61
st minute when freshman forward
Cody Granville (Wakefield, R.I.) tapped in a pass from junior midfielder
Anthony Recinos (Providence, R.I.) to score his second of the season an put the Anchormen up, 1-0.

• Six minutes later, Jelinek went to challenge for a loose ball which Oliveira got to first. He dribbled around Jelinek and chipped the ball into the open goal to put RIC up by a pair, 2-0.

• Emerson got on the board in the 76
th minute, when sophomore midfielder
Evan Lee (Miami, FL.) scored his first of the season.

Six minutes later, freshman midfielder
Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) scored to tie the game at two with eight minutes left to go in regulation.

• Two minutes after that goal, graduate student midfielder
Aidan Ferguson (Berkeley, Calif.) was able to hit in a header off of a long throw-in to score what proved to be the game-winning goal.

• RIC junior goalkeeper
Wesley Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass.) made five saves in the loss (2-1).

• Jelinek recorded 10 saves in the victorious effort (2-0).
