Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College junior goalkeeper
Chloe Angelone (Bayville, N.Y.) earned a shutout in her first collegiate start as the Anchorwomen and Maine-Farmington settled for a 0-0 draw in both clubs' season-opener played at Alumni Stadium on Friday night.

• The flurry of offense started early for the Anchorwomen, with shots coming from sophomore back
Jayde Fernandes (Pawtucket, R.I.), sophomore midfielder
Olivia Williams (Riverside, R.I.), and freshman back
Jaylin Fernandes (Pawtucket, R.I.).
• UMF sophomore goalkeeper
Paige Gonya (Sabattus, Maine) was well up to the task, stopping all five of the shots on goal the Anchorwomen threw at her over the first 45 minutes.
• RIC held the lead in shots, 13-2, in the first half.

Serena Forte (Hope, R.I.) had an opportunity at the net-mouth that was once again thwarted by Gonya.

Marissa Ruzzano (Smithfield, R.I.) was awarded a free kick just outside the top of the 18-yard box, but her shot sailed over the crossbar.
• Rhode Island College dominated in shots, 28-4.
• Gonya stopped all nine shots that came her way in the shutout draw.
• Angelone only had one shot directed towards her goal, which she saved.
