Anchorwomen Fall at Eastern Connecticut

Willimantic, Conn.--Freshman attacker Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) scored both goals as Rhode Island College fell, 26-2, at Eastern Connecticut in Little East women's lacrosse action played at Rick McCarthy Field on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Greene scored both of her goals in the first quarter. The Warriors had eight in the first quarter, followed by nine goals in the second. The hosts scored nine second half goals as well to roll through the Anchorwomen with ease.
 
• Greene also picked up a team-high four ground balls.
 
• ECSU had three student athletes score six or more goals.
 
• Senior goalkeeper Shannon O'Connell (Narragansett, R.I.) racked up 17 saves in the loss (0-4).
 
• ECSU sophomore goalkeeper Emma Alford (West Hartford, Conn.) played the first half and made five saves in the win (4-8).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play vs. Castleton at La Salle Academy on Friday, April 21 (6 p.m.).
