Providence, R.I.—Freshman attacker
Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) scored five times as Rhode Island College was defeated by Castleton, 27-13, in Little East women's lacrosse action played at LaSalle Academy on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC honored its four seniors on Senior Night prior to the game as attackers
Amara Gibau (North Providence, R.I.) and
Meghan Quinn (Carolina, R.I.) and midfielders
Shannon O'Connell (Narragansett, R.I.) and
Ashley Rewers (Oakdale, Conn.), along with their families, were recognized.
• Castleton put up eight goals in the first quarter, but RIC stayed close behind with five of its own.
• The CU offense didn't let up, scoring another eight goals, while holding RIC to just three, and the first half up by eight, 16-8.
• The Spartans didn't let up, ending the game with a season-high 27 goals.
• The Anchorwomen had goals from three of their four seniors. Rewers scored the first goal of the game for the Anchorwomen at 12:01, O'Connell tallied at 2:35 in the second quarter and Gibau notched the last marker for the Anchorwomen at 4:03.
• CU got huge offensive days from freshmen midfielders
Phoebe Loomis (Jeffersonville, Vt.) and
Megan Ward (Easthampton, Mass.), who had eight and seven goals, respectively.
• RIC junior goalkeeper
Olivia Brennan (Portsmouth, R.I.) made 11 saves in the loss (1-9).
• Castleton senior goalkeeper
Maddie Brasser (Westport, Conn.) had seven saves in the win (2-1).
