Fitchburg, Mass.—Senior goalkeeper
Shannon O'Connell (Narragansett, R.I.) registered a career-high 19 saves as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team was upended by Fitchburg State, 17-6, at Elliot Field on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC was able to score two goals in the first, one by freshman attacker
Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) and one by sophomore attacker
Nicolle Rosales (Dartmouth, R.I.), but the Falcons struck for seven of their own in the opening frame.
• Fitchburg increased its lead to nine after the Falcons went into halftime with a 12-3 advantage.
• Greene completed the hat trick with her third goal in the third quarter, but the Anchorwomen would start the fourth down by 11, 16-5.
• Each team added a score in the fourth as Fitchburg rolled to its fourth victory of the season.
• Greene had four goals and four ground balls.
• Senior midfielders
Amara Gibua (North Providence, R.I.) and
Ashley Rewers (Oakdale, Conn.) each picked up a team-high eight ground balls.
