Nichols Defeats Anchorwomen, 18-5

Dudley, Mass.--Freshman attacker Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) scored four times as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team fell at Nichols, 18-5, on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Greene and sophomore attacker Nicolle Rosales (New Bedford, Mass.) each picked up a goal in the first quarter as RIC went down, 6-2, to the Bison.
 
• NC blanked the Anchorwomen in the second quarter, going into halftime up by 10, 12-2.
 
•  Greene scored three times in the second half as Nichols sailed to its seventh win on the season.
 
• Greene had four goals, while senior attacker Amara Gibau (North Providence, R.I.) picked eight ground balls.
 
• Freshman and sophomore midfielders Emma Patton (Avon Lake, Ohio) and Hadley Houghton (Madison, Conn.) scored five and four goals, respectively, for the hosts.
 
•  RIC junior goalkeeper Olivia Brennan (Portsmouth, R.I.) made nine saves in the loss (1-7).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East play at Western Connecticut on Saturday, April 1 (2 p.m.).
