Chicopee, Mass.--Freshman attacker Sydnee Pires (Rochester, Mass.) scored twice as Rhode Island College fell at Elms, 18-4, in collegiate women's lacrosse action played at Leary Field on Monday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•  Elms dominated from the jump, storming out to a 9-1 lead after the first quarter.
 
•  RIC was able to score once each frame. Elms closed out the fourth quarter with five scores.
 
•  Pires notched two goals, while sophomore midfielder Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) and freshman attacker Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) each scored. It was Greene's first goal of her career.
 
•  Elms' senior midfielders Taylor Borla (Southington, Conn.) and Anna-Elise Pikul (Belchertown, Mass.) each had five goals.
 
•   RIC junior goalkeeper Olivia Brennan (Portsmouth, R.I.) had three saves in the loss (0-5).
 
•  EC junior goalkeeper Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, Mass.) earned the victory (1-3).
