MARLEY SCORES IN, 17-1, LOSS AT USJ
Hartford, Conn.--Sophomore midfielder Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) netted her first goal of the season as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team lost at the University of Saint Joseph, 17-1, on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Blue Jays were able to take a 3-0 lead after the first quarter, then tacked on five more to enter the half up by eight, 8-0. Senior attacker Makenzie Dinger (Hingham, Mass.) scored the first goal of the game, then earned the hat-trick late in the second quarter.
 
• Marley was able to slice the defense 30 seconds into the second half to score her first goal of the season.
 
• USJ took control right back and was able to score nine straight goals and finish the game with the win.
 
• Marley had a goal and three ground balls, while senior attacker Amara Gibau (North Providence, R.I.) picked up nine ground balls.
 
• Dinger ended the day with six goals and nine ground balls.
 
• Junior goalkeeper Olivia Brennan (Portsmouth, R.I.) had 16 saves in the loss (0-4).
 
• USJ freshman goalkeeper Ariel DiSanti (Agawam, Mass.) got her first career win (1-0) with a six-save effort.
