Plymouth, N.H.--Five Anchorwomen scored in double digits as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 74-49 win at Plymouth State Little East action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Rhode Island College and Eastern Connecticut share the 2022-23 Little East Regular Season Championship. The two teams each went 15-1 vs. LEC competition and split the two meetings between each other. The Warriors won a coin flip, which gave the Anchorwomen the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 2023 Little East Women's Basketball Championship, which begins on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

• It marks the third straight season that the Anchorwomen have won at least a share of the LEC's regular season crown. RIC was the outright champion in 2021 and 2022. It is the fifth LEC Regular Season Championship in program history.

• RIC was quickly able to gain a double-digit, 18-7, lead thanks to a layup by senior guard
Jeniyah Jones (Randolph, Mass.) with two minutes left in the first quarter. The visitors would end the quarter up by 14, 23-9.

• After two scores from the Panthers opened up the second stanza, RIC took complete control and outscored the hosts, 16-2, from 7:56-3:11. The half ended with RIC up by 23, 45-22.

• RIC would go on the cruise for their 15
th conference win, with sophomore forward
Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) scoring 11 of her 17 points in the second half.

Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.), as well as sophomore guard
Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.), each scored 10 or more points.

Jalen Cook (Monkton, Vt.) led Plymouth State with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Cook added six rebounds and a pair of steals.

In upcoming action, No. 2-seeded Rhode Island College will host the winner of No. 6-seeded Keene State/No. 3-seeded UMass Dartmouth in the semifinals of the 2023 Little East Championship on Thursday, Feb. 23 (5:30Â p.m.).
