Providence, R.I.--The entire Anchorwomen defensive unit shined as they held Western Connecticut to no points in the first quarter en route to a 63-38 win in Little East women's basketball action played at The Murray Center on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC held the Wolves off the scoreboard for the entirety of the first quarter. It took WCSU until 8:34 in the second quarter to pick up their first points when graduate forward
Katelyn Fanning (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) hit a pair of free throws. The Anchorwomen went into halftime up by 15, 25-10.

• After a slow second quarter, the Anchorwomen kicked their offense into high gear, scoring 23 points in the third quarter to put the game away.

Neleesha Meunier (Leominster, Mass.) scored a career-high 13 points off of the bench.

Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) notched 12 points, five assists, three boards and a pair of steals.

• Fanning registered a game-high 16 points to go along with nine rebounds.

• RIC raised its current win streak to 12 games.
