Booth and Meunier Lead Anchorwomen Past Panthers, 87-47

Providence, R.I.--Senior forward Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.) scored a career-high 25 points as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team won for the 14th straight time by downing Plymouth State, 87-47, in Little East action played at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC took control early and never looked back. The Anchorwomen started the game on a 15-2 run after a three-point bucket by senior guard Antonia Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) with 5:55 left in the first quarter. RIC would lead, 24-11, after the opening 10 minutes.
 
• Another dominant RIC quarter came and went as the hosts took a 27-point, 49-22, lead into the half.
 
• The game was out of hand for the entirety of the second half. The game was highlighted by four student athletes in double-figures and flashy passes by sophomore guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.).
 
• Senior center Neleesha Meunier (Leominster, Mass.) contributed 14 points and nine rebounds off of the bench. Sophomore forward Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) had 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
 
• PSU freshman guard Sophie George (Meredith, N.H.) led the visitors with 15 points and five rebounds.  
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East action at UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday, Jan. 18 (5:30 p.m.).
