Jonathan Oliveira (Providence, R.I.) scored his first goal of the season as the Rhode Island College men's soccer team battled Castleton to a, 2-2, draw in Little East action played at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC got on the board first in the 21
st minute off of a header by sophomore midfielder
Larry Garcia (Central Falls, R.I.). He was set up by senior midfielder
Brandon Ramos (Boston, Mass.) and classmate defender
Roman Davis (Watertown, Mass.).

• Castleton was able to answer back just before the half. In the 41
st minute, sophomore forward
Adolphe Alfani (Colchester, Vt.) intercepted a pass off a RIC turnover and beat Anchorman sophomore goalkeeper
Wesley Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass.) one-on-one for his second goal of the year.

• The Anchormen jumped into the driver's seat in the 80
th minute as junior midfielder
Joseph Scolaro (Bristol, R.I.) sent a pass into the box, which freshman forward
Ryan Delessio (Jamestown, R.I.) tapped over to Oliveira who then smoked a shot into the top right corner.

• The Anchormen were poised to close out the game, but the Spartans forced the deadlock in the 84
th minute. The Anchormen were unable to clear the ball from deep in their zone and freshman midfielder
Matt Spiller (Fairfax, Vt.) intercepted a pass and registered his first collegiate goal with a shot from the top of the box.

Oliveira, the team's highest returning goal scorer from a year ago, was making his season debut after missing the squad's first five contests.

• Perrotto was able to make three stops in the draw (1-2-1).

Andres Soto-Burgos (Bronx, N.Y.) made nine saves on the day (2-2-2).
