Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Through the first four innings, both offenses were held in check, as RIC led by one, 2-1, heading into the fifth inning.
Â
• The Anchormen would hang seven runs on the board, mostly due to walks with the bases loaded and sacrifice flies, to put the game out of reach.
Â
• RIC would pile on 10 runs over the next two innings, which included eight runs in the seventh inning, to win via the 10-run rule.
Â
• Every Anchorman who had an at-bat registered at least one RBI, including six Anchormen who had multiple RBI.
Â
• Trzepacz, senior left fielder
Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) and sophomore second baseman
Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) each had three RBI and went a combined 8-for-12 at the plate.
Â
• Junior pitcher
Shaun Gamelin (West Kingston, R.I.) earned his first victory of the year (1-0), going three innings in relief while striking out seven batters.
Â
• JWU senior pitcher
Dan Heise (Richmond, N.H.) was saddled with the loss (0-1).
Â
• This is the second meeting between these two squads, with RIC earning an 11-6 victory at Pontarelli Field on March 29.
