Andrew Sears (West Warwick, R.I.) fired a one-hitter as part of a doubleheader sweep as Rhode Island College downed Keene State (22-0; 11-2) in Little East baseball action played at Pontarelli Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• The Anchormen took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, then used seven-run outbursts in both the third and sixth innings to end the game early via the 10-run rule.

• Sears saw a no-hit bid end on a single by Keene State senior catcher
Michael Montembeault (Manchester, N.H.) in the top of the sixth. He allowed just one hit and struck out five in the win (3-1).

Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, one double and an RBI. Senior left fielder
Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double and four RBI. Freshman catcher
Lucas Pierce (Chepachet, R.I.) went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and five RBI.

• Keene State took the early advantage in game two, going up, 1-0, thanks to an RBI single by junior first baseman

. RIC wouldn't be down for long, however, notching four runs in the bottom of the frame to go up by three, 4-1.

• The Anchormen would break it open in the bottom of the when sophomore second baseman
Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) smoked a bases-clearing double into the right-center field gap. A total of six runs would cross that inning, which increased the Anchormen's lead to 10-2.

• The hosts added a run in the seventh to cap a 30-run effort on the day.

Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) went seven complete innings and struck out six to pick up his second win of the season (2-0).

• Parrillo was 5-for-8 at the plate, knocking in four runs and scoring four times himself to go along with a pair of doubles.
