Wenham, Mass.--Senior attacker Olivia Carpenito (Wilmington, Mass.) scored two goals as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team fell vs. Gordon, 18-4, at the Brigham Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Carpenito started the game off by beating Gordon junior goalkeeper Janelle Maxwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) just 45 seconds into the game. Gordon responded with seven straight goals to go into halftime up by five, 7-2.
 
• Junior defender Amara Gibau (North Providence, R.I.) and Carpenito scored for the Anchorwomen in the second half, but the Fighting Scots offense proved to be too much.
 
• Carpenito had two goals, four ground balls and four caused turnovers on the day.
 
• Freshman midfielder Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) had three ground balls and caused a team-high five turnovers.
 
• Sophomore attacker Alexis Lapia (Exeter, N.H.)  and freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Mini (Malden, Mass.) each had five goals for the hosts. Freshman attacker Hailey Beling (Cheshire, Conn.) notched four markers.
 
• Maxwell made nine saves in the win (2-0).
 
• RIC junior goalkeeper Shannon O'Connell (Narragansett, R.I.) stopped eight shots in the loss (0-2).
