Shion Darby (Peekskill, N.Y.) registered 31 points as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team fell vs. Eastern Connecticut, 91-72, in Little East action played at The Murray Center on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both teams went back-and-forth in the first half until an East Connecticut run late gave the visitors a comfortable 12-point, 40-28, halftime advantage.
• RIC would cut its deficit to nine points on several occasions in the final stanza, trailing, 72-63 with 4:35 left in the second half, but the visitors pulled away down the stretch.
• Darby's 31 points were accompanied by three rebounds and three assists.
• RIC sophomore forward
Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) had a double-double on the night, recording 14 points and 10 rebounds.
• ECSU junior guard
Meikyle Murray (Bronx, N.Y.) had a game-high 32 points and 14 rebounds for the visitors.
• Eastern sophomore guard
Max Lee (Norwich, Conn.) was a maestro on the floor, dishing out 12 assists.
