• The first half came and went with still no score on the board. Both teams were even in shots and shots on goal through 45 minutes.

Ryan Lima (Lynn, Mass.) received a beautiful pass from sophomore midfielder
Annilson DePina (Dorchester, Mass.) through the midfield and powered a shot by Reed for what proved to be a game-winner.

• The defense really shined for the Beacons on the day, which broke up multiple RIC offensive possessions in the box.

Qasim El-Ashkar (Salem, Mass.) made the play of the game in the 79
th minute. RIC had a deep throw-in that was sent into the box. While El-Ashkar went to react to the ball, senior forward
Jonathan Oliveira (Providence, R.I.) deflected the ball into the middle of the box. Freshman forward
Lucas Duquette (Wakefield, R.I.) had his point blank shot stopped by a sprawling El-Ashkar to keep the Beacons', 1-0 lead, intact.
