Lucas Duquette (Wakefield, R.I.) netted his first career goal as the Rhode Island College men's soccer tied Roger Williams, 3-3, at Alumni Field on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Roger Williams got on the board quickly when sophomore midfielder
Jack Wildermann (Madison, Conn.) booted in a crosser from senior forward
Javi Beltran (Madrid, Spain) in the ninth minute.

• RIC evened the contest in the 28
th minute when senior midfielder
Brandon Ramos (Boston, Mass.) tapped the ball ahead to senior forward
Jonathan Oliveira (Providence, R.I.), who then chipped the ball over RWU sophomore goalkeeper
Hogan Cain (Nottingham, N.H.) for his third goal of the season.

• In the 35
th minute, sophomore midfielder
Jesus Guarcas (Providence, R.I.) chipped a free kick from  25 yards out that went over the head of Cain, who had aggressively come out to play the shot, for third marker of the season.

• Coming out of the half, it took RIC just 18 minutes to score its third goal. In the 73
rd minute, Duquette rocketed a pass from junior forward
Joseph Scolaro (Bristol, R.I.) past Cain for the first goal of his career.

• RWU would not be denied however, as just 35 seconds later, freshman forward
Will Schiffer (Cotuit, Mass.) chipped in a shot to bring the Hawks within one, 3-2.

• The visitors kept the pressure on the hosts and tied the game with just under two minutes left to play.

• Beltran broke in from the left side and was able to perfectly curl a crosser that went behind the RIC defense and right to fellow captain junior forward
Justin Horvath (Stratford, Conn.), who dove and pushed a header past junior goalkeeper
Jake Reed (Cumberland, R.I.).

• Reed made three saves in 45 minutes and picked up the tie (0-2-1). Sophomore goalkeeper
Wesley Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass.) played the first half and made four stops.

• RWU's Cain made three stops in the draw (4-0-1).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East action at home vs. UMass Boston on Saturday, Oct. 8 (1 p.m.).
