Norton, Mass.--Junior goalkeeper Jake Reed (Cumberland, R.I.) made nine saves as the Rhode Island College men's soccer team lost at Wheaton, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Defense was on display early in the game as neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half.
 
• In the 69^th minute, Wheaton was able to break the deadlock when sophomore forward Alasdair Ferrier (Concord, N.H.) received a pass from junior forward Luke Strange (Portland, Oregon) and beat Reed for the first goal of the game.
 
• Not even a minute later, Ferrier struck again, this time unassisted, to give the hosts a comfortable, 2-0, lead.
 
• Reed made nine saves in the loss (0-5-2).
 
• Wheaton freshman goalkeeper Michael O'Gara (Ardmore, Penn.) earned the win (2-1-1) with two saves in 80 minutes of action. Senior goalkeeper Kris Strempel (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished the game and made one stop.
