Western Connecticut Bests Women's Soccer in Little East Opener

Providence, R.I.—Freshman goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz (Tolland, Conn.) stopped 11 shots as the Rhode Island College women's soccer team lost their Little East opener, 7-0, at Western Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Freshman forward Tess Dugan (Bristol, R.I.) led RIC with two shots.
 
• Western Connecticut freshman midfielder Suzana Imetovski (Seymour, Conn.) led the hosts with two goals and three assists for seven points on the day.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• Kerecz took the loss (0-7).
 
• Western Connecticut senior goalkeeper Karly Martin (Bristol, Conn.) earned the win (6-0) with a two-save effort. Junior goalkeeper Kristen Roessler (Danbury, Conn.) did not have to make a save in relief.
 
• Western Connecticut held the advantage in shots (29-5) and corner kicks (6-0).
