Shayna Cousineau and Jamie Dobson Win Little East Individual Titles at Conference Championship

Anchorwomen Finish Eighth in Team Standings

North Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College seniors Shayna Cousineau (Cranston, R.I.) and Jamie Dobson (Bradford, R.I.) each took home individual titles as the women's outdoor track and field team finished 8th (8 teams) at the 2021 Little East Championship, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
Rhode Island College compiled a team score of 26.0. Southern Maine finished first (158.0), followed by Eastern Connecticut (125.0), Keene State (92.0), Plymouth State (70.0), UMass Dartmouth (52.0), UMass Boston (48.0) and Castleton (37.0).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Cousineau was the Little East Champion, and earned First Team All-Little East honors, in the 10,000m (40:48.55) with a first place finish.
 
• Dobson was the Little East Champion, and earned First Team All-Little East honors, in the hammer (45.20m) with a first place finish. She also finished third in the javelin (33.23m).
 
• Senior Bryana Mullin (Warwick, R.I.) finished seventh in the 800m (2:39.72).
