Keene, N.H.--Freshman midfielder Jayde Fernandes (Pawtucket, R.I.) scored her first collegiate goal as the Rhode Island College women's soccer team fell to Keene State, 6-2, in Little East action at the Owl Athletic Complex on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• KSC jumped on the board in the 29^th minute of action when freshman forward Maya Baker (Manchester, Mass.) was set up by classmate Rachel Souza (Andover, Mass.) and fired a shot to the bottom right corner to put the Owls ahead, 1-0.
 
• RIC answered in the 51^st minute when Fernandes fired a shot into the back of the net, tying the score at one apiece.
 
• KSC rattled off three straight goals, two of which were by Baker, to give the Owls a 4-1 lead in the 61^st minute.
 
• RIC sophomore midfielder Alexandra Amore (Saunderstown, R.I.) cut the Owls lead down to two, 4-2, when she found the back of the net in the 79^th minute.
 
• KSC added a pair of goals down the stretch to earn their first win of the season.
 
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• KSC held the advantage in shots, 32-15, and in corner kicks, 4-1.
 
• RIC freshman goalkeeper Giannie Soto (Cranston, R.I.) made a career-high 14 saves in the losing effort (1-1).
 
• KSC senior goalkeeper Abbie Terrinca (Ludlow, Mass.) registered six saves on the night to secure the win (1-0).
