HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first half saw no scoring on the board, but the Warriors were able to fire off 11 shots, four of which were saved by RIC senior goalkeeper Charlie Tashjian (West Warwick, R.I.).

• The Anchormen held their own during the first half with a starting roster comprised of mostly freshmen and sophomores.

• The Anchormen were only able to see a couple offensive opportunities during the first half and registered just one shot.

• After an ECSU foul five minutes into the second stanza, Kamarah was able to carry the ball down the left side and fired a shot across the box and into the back of the net to give the Anchormen a 1-0 advantage.

• Tashjian made four saves in the first half. Freshman goalkeeper Andrew Silva (Cumberland, R.I.) earned his first collegiate win (1-0), stopping two Warrior shots in just under 40 minutes of action.

• ECSU freshman goalkeeper Dyland Pallanck (Willington, Conn.) took the loss (0-1).

HEAD MEN'S SOCCER COACH JOHN MELLO ON THE WIN
• "I was very pleased with the team as we had 12 kids experience their first college soccer game. Also, having a total of 16 freshmen and sophomores, we were pleased with the effort from everyone against a very good Eastern Connecticut team. It was a team win and everyone contributed to the victory."

BY THE NUMBERS
• ECSU held the advantage in shots, 19-3, and led in corner kicks, 5-1.
