Castleton, Vt.--Freshman first basemen
Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) went 4-for-10 with two runs scored, one double, one homer and a team-high six RBI as the Rhode Island College baseball team swept Castleton (12-2 (seven innings); 9-2) in a pair of nonconference games played at Spartan Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• The Anchormen offense struck early and often in game one as they plated four runs on three hits in the opening frame, paced by a Parrillo two-run single to center and an RBI single by junior left fielder
Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.), to give the Anchormen a 4-0 lead.

• Parrillo knocked in another run with a double to left field as RIC built a 7-0 advantage in the second inning.

• Senior third basemen
Ray Zincone (West Warwick, R.I.) drilled a triple to center field and came across the plate on a two-run bomb (1) by Parrillo, the first of his career, to give the Anchormen a 10-0 lead in the fourth stanza.

• Castleton got on the board in the home half of the sixth inning with an RBI single from junior center fielder
Ryan Lawrence (Coventry, Conn.) and then scored another run on a fielding error that allowed freshman designated hitter
Jarrett Williams (Granville, N.Y.) to come across home plate.

• RIC was able to score two more runs as they drew a pair of walks with the bases loaded to take a 12-2 lead in the top of the seventh and end the contest early.

Seth Daly (Riverside, R.I.) threw a complete game, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and struck out four batters for his second win of the season (2-1).

GAME TWO
• Castleton jumped on the board first in game two as freshman third basemen
Armando Cardenas (Mesa, Ariz.) hit a leadoff single and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch.

• RIC put three runs on the board in the fifth inning as freshman catcher
David Iannuccilli (Johnston, R.I.) hit an RBI single to bring in Coro from third base. Iannuccilli and senior shortstop
Rommy Morel (Providence, R.I.) were able to score on an errant throw and take a 3-1 lead in the fifth.

• RIC struck for two runs in the sixth frame as Coro hit a two-run triple to give the Anchormen a 5-1 lead.

• Zincone hit a leadoff double to begin the eighth inning, then advanced to third on a wild pitch before being knocked in by a Parrillo RBI single as RIC built a 6-2 lead.

• The Anchormen were able to bring in three more runs in the top of the final frame on one error and two wild pitches.

Shaun Gamelin (West Kingston, R.I.) shut the door on the Spartans in the ninth as he struck out the side to secure the 15
th win of the season for RIC.
