North Dartmouth, Mass.--Freshman first baseman
Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) went 4-for-5 with three RBI to pace the Rhode Island College baseball team in a 7-5 win over UMass Dartmouth in Little East action played at the UMass Dartmouth baseball field on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The RIC offense picked up where they left off over the weekend, striking for three runs in the opening frame as Parrillo was able to single into center field to drive in senior third basemen
Ray Zincone (West Warwick, R.I.) and freshman designated hitter

• UMD responded with a run of its own in the bottom half of the inning as senior designated hitter
Mike Knell (Dennis, Mass.) hit an RBI double to the gap in right center.

• RIC kept the up the pace and added another three runs in the second stanza, highlighted by a Zincone two-run double with the bases loaded to give the Anchormen a 5-1 advantage.

• Parrillo singled through the left side of the infield to push across the sixth run for the Anchormen and third RBI of the day.

• UMD found its groove offensively in the third as Knell drove in yet another run on a single to left field as part of a three-run inning for the Corsairs which trimmed the RIC lead down to two, 6-4.

• The Corsairs cut the lead down to a single run, 6-5, in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball that allowed freshman center fielder
Matt Klett (Barnstable, Mass.) to score.

• Zincone got the visitor's lead back to two, 7-5, with a single that scored freshman center fielder
Cam Santerre (Bristol, R.I.) on an error.

• UMD rallied in the bottom of the eighth to knot the score at seven apiece on a sophomore pinch hitter
Andrew Bryant (Canton, Mass.) single to center field that was mishandled and allowed sophomore pinch runner
Adam Horowitz (Seekonk, Mass.) to score from first. Â

• Parrillo, the reigning Little East Player and Rookie of the Week, scored the decisive run in the top of ninth, coming home on a Corsair wild pitch.

Shaun Gamelin (West Kingston, R.I.) earned the win, throwing 1.1 innings and striking out four batters.

Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) threw 7.2 and struck out five.
