Maci Dorantes (Bristol, Conn.) put up a career -best 19 points, including a game-clinching three-pointer with under a minute remaining, to held the Rhode Island College women's basketball team clip Wesleyan, 66-62, at Silloway Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Cardinals entered the final frame up by five points, 51-46. Wesleyan senior guard
Maddie Clark (Contoocook, N.H.) sank two free throws at 9:23Â to give the hosts a seven point advantage, 53-46.

• RIC strung together a few baskets in a row, highlighted by a jumper from freshman forward

Willcia McBorrough (Providence, R.I.) gave the visitors a one point, 55-54, advantage, which gave the Anchorwomen their first lead since 2:09 of the third quarter.Â

• Wesleyan and RIC traded threes down the stretch, with junior guard
Antonia Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) hitting one and Clark hitting two, resulting in a Cardinals lead, 60-58, with just a minute remaining.

• Dorantes then got a pass from McBorrough and splashed home a long ball that put RIC in front by one, 61-60. RIC would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game as the Anchorwomen hit their free throws and Wesleyan missed their final attempts.

• Dorantes notched a career-high 19 points, while playing 28 minutes off the bench. She hit five of her six three -point attempts and grabbed six rebounds.

Jeniyah Jones (Randolph, Mass.) also had a career-high in points with 14 on the afternoon. She also pulled down nine boards and swiped four steals.

• McBorrough registered 12 points and nine rebounds off of the bench. Nardolillo secured a game-high 11 rebounds.Â

• Wesleyan had a pair of 20 point scorers, with Clark and senior guard
Caleigh Ryan (New York, N.Y.) each registering exactly 20 points apiece. Ryan also had six rebounds, three assists and three blocks, while Clark chipped in seven rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.Â

• RIC shot 35 percent (24-for-68) from the field, 32 percent (6-for-19) from three-point range and 75 percent (12-for-16) from the free throw line.

• The Cardinals hit 33 percent (23-for-69) from the field, 19 percent (5-for-26) from downtown and 79 percent (11-for-14) from the charity stripe.Â
