Perrotto Picks Up First Career Win and Shutout in Net

Providence, R.I—Senior forward Roman Davis (Watertown, Mass.) had a goal and an assist as the Rhode Island College men's soccer team defeated Fitchburg State, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Davis scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the eighth minute when sophomore midfielder Anthony Recinos (Providence, R.I.) set him up for his first strike as an Anchorman.
 
• Davis notched an assist on the insurance marker in the 58th minute as junior forward Luis Blanco (Pawtucket, R.I.) scored his team-leading ninth goal of the year.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC sophomore goalkeeper Wesley Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass.) made four saves for his first career win (1-0) and shutout.
 
• FSU senior goalkeeper Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass.) made 12 saves in a losing effort (1-12-1).
 
• RIC held the advantage in shot (23-7) and corner kicks (8-3).
 
 WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East action at Keene State on Saturday, Oct. 30 (1 p.m.).
