Box Score Gorham, Maine--Junior forward Madyson Christian (Douglas, MA) provided the heroics as her overtime goal in the 94th minute propelled the Rhode Island College women's soccer team to a thrilling, 2-1, victory at Southern Maine in a Little East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Southern Maine got on to the board just 7:31 into the game when freshman midfielder Alexandria Allain (Carmel, ME) played a through-ball to junior forward Ciera Berthiaume (Windham, ME) who then buried a shot into the back of the net to give the Huskies the 1-0 advantage.
• RIC responded just four minutes later when sophomore forward Soleil Galagarza (Pawtucket, RI) scored her first goal of the season, an unassisted tally, to knot the game at 1-1.
• The game headed into halftime deadlocked at 1-1 with Southern Maine holding a 5-4 advantage in shots.
• The two teams then battled through a scoreless second half with the host Huskies again having a 7-5 advantage in shots for the frame.
• Regulation ended in the 1-1 tie, sending the game into a 10-minute overtime period.
• The visiting Anchorwomen struck quickly in overtime as Galagarza played a pass out to the corner of the box where Christian tucked a shot into just inside the far post to give RIC the victory.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Carissa Gaglione (West Warwick, RI) stopped five shots to earn the win for RIC.
• Southern Maine senior goalkeeper Taylor Canastra (Fairhaven, MA) took the loss with five saves.
• RIC led in shots, 13-10, with Southern Maine holding the advantage in corner kicks, 4-3.
