HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first set was a back-and-forth bout the full way, but it was the Anchorwomen who took it, 25-22, thanks to a pair of attack errors and one service error by the Bears in the final six points.
Â
• BSU dominated the second as its lead never dropped below six after the visitors made it, 12-6, and went on to win, 25-15, in dominating fashion.
Â
• Despite a slow start from RIC in the third set, the hosts rallied back to a two-point deficit, 15-13, thanks to one kill apiece from senior outside hitter
Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) and junior pin hitter
Olivia Rollinson (Coventry, R.I.).
Â
• However, the visitors closed out RIC in the third, 25-22, and sealed the win, capitalizing on the host's miscommunication, with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.
Â
• Marines finished with a double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs, while Rollinson posted 11 kills.
