HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC held a five-point advantage, 20-15, forcing the Huskies to call a timeout, in the first set before closing out the hosts by a narrow, 25-23, margin.

• The visitors dominated part of the second stanza, until USM clawed their way back to a three-point deficit, 23-20, before the Anchorwomen took the set, 25-21, thanks to a kill by Williams.

Caroline Morrell (Gorham, Maine) put RIC up, 22-20, in the third frame, but the hosts notched three aces of their own to win, 25-23, and extend the match.

• USM would take the fourth set, 25-17, and then kept up the momentum to break RIC's stamina and win in five, 15-12.

Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) posted a double-double of 13 kills and 11 digs in the effort.
