Sean Risley enters his second season as an assistant baseball coach at Rhode Island College. Risley works primarily with the Anchormen hitters and infielders, while also serving as the team’s first base coach. 

Risley graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in education. The Willimantic, Conn. native starred for the baseball team at Eastern for three years and played in the 1983 College World Series for the Warriors. In 1986, he attended Marietta College and was captain of the 1986 National Championship team. Risley collected 103 hits in 1986, which still stands as the most single season hits in NCAA Div. III history. He was named an All-American in 1986 by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). 

Risley served as the head baseball coach at Manchester Community College from 1988-1992. He also served as the head coach of the 18U Aquidneck Baseball Travel program based in Middletown, R.I. from 2006-2008. In the off-season, Risley resides in Fort Myers, Fla. with his wife Mary. The Risley’s have three daughters: Taylor, Shannon and Terra.
