Randy Vang (Cranston, R.I.) registered his first collegiate goal as Rhode Island College battled Salve Regina to a 1-1 tie at Alumni Stadium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Vang's goal came in the 21st minute off assists from both junior back
Kyle Neuendorf (Attleboro, Mass.) and sophomore forward
Alex Ciotti (North Providence, R.I.) to give the Anchormen a 1-0 lead.

• A minute later, RIC conceded a penalty as the Seahawks had a chance to level the game at one apiece, but freshman goalkeeper
Jake Raymond (Chepachet, R.I.) made a huge stop on the penalty to keep the hosts ahead.

• Despite keeping SRU off the board after the penalty, the Anchormen were bested in the 40th minute as the visitors equalized, 1-1, going into the break.

• RIC outshot the Seahawks, 14-4, in the second half and, 26-8, in the game.

• The Anchormen had a series of chances with shots by sophomore forward
Kody Poplaski (Bradford, R.I.) and classmate midfielder
Moise Augustin (Providence, R.I.), but both were turned away.

• Raymond made one save in the tie (0-1-2).
