Groton, Conn.—Sophomore Ryan Gervais (North Providence, R.I.) tied for first overall with a 75 (+4) as Rhode Island College captured the crown at the Mitchell Invitational III played at Shennecossett Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchormen finished first overall with a team score of 312 (season-low). Dean finished second (320) and the hosts placed third (352).
 
• The course was a par-71 and measured 6,562 yards.
 
• 15 golfers competed at the event.
 
• The win gave the Anchormen a title in back-to-back days, having won the Saints Invitational on Sept. 15.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gervais tied for first with a score of 75 (+4).
 
• Senior Kyle Cullen (Glocester, R.I.) finished fourth with a 76 (+5).
 
• Senior Max Nasser (Middletown, R.I.) tied for fifth with an 80 (+9).
 
• Senior Mike Decesare (Cranston, R.I.) finished eighth with an 81 (+10).
 
• Sophomore Ben Spirito (Cranston, R.I.) finished ninth with an 83 (+12).
