Guilfoyle and Simmons Named Second Team All-Region II by NFCA

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College senior second baseman Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) and sophomore first baseman Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) were named Second Team All-Region II (Div. III) by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for their respective performances in softball during the 2026 season.
 
Simmons capped her career with her third consecutive First Team All-Little East selection. She played in 41 games, starting 40 of them. Simmons batted .393 (57-for-145) with 57 runs scored, 57 hits, 13 doubles, 12 triples, four home runs, 32 RBI and two stolen bases. She owned a .731 slugging percentage, a .454 on-base percentage and a .971 fielding percentage.
 
Guilfoyle was named First Team All-Little East. She played in 41 games, starting all of them. Guilfoyle batted .464 (58-for-125) with 16 runs scored, 58 hits, seven doubles, two triples, 36 RBI and one stolen base. She owned a .552 slugging percentage, a .518 on-base percentage and a .996 fielding percentage. Guilfoyle struck out just once in 142 plate appearances.
 
Head Coach Lauren Hatfield's team finished the 2026 season with a 27-14 overall record and a 9-7 (fifth place) mark in the Little East.
 
The No. 5-seeded Anchorwomen defeated No. 4 Eastern Connecticut, 5-3, on May 7, No. 1-seeded VTSU Castleton, 4-3, on May 8 and No. 6-seeded UMass Boston, 4-3, on May 9 to reach the finals of the 2026 Little East Softball Championship. No. 2-seeded UMass Dartmouth downed RIC twice (2-1, 8-3) claim the title on May 10 to win the championship.
